Department Summary | The Department of Pharmacology & Neuroscience currently consists of 27 faculty, who advise and train undergraduate and graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and other research staff in (1) the neurobiology of aging, neurodegenerative diseases, traumatic brain injury, and stroke; (2) diseases of the eye; and (3) drug discovery, drug development, and behavioral pharmacology. P&N is also the home of the National Institutes of Health T32 program “Training In the Neurobiology of Aging and Alzheimer’s Disease” (T32 AG020494). P&N also maintains cutting-edge facilities for mass spectrometry, advanced confocal microscopy, in vivo preclinical neurocognitive psychomotor and sensorineural testing, and is now developing a $2M Preclinical Imaging Core facilitating multi-model rodent imaging (fMRI/CT/PET/SPECT). |
Position Overview | This position will assist the contract PI in data collection and reporting pursuant to evaluation of experimental drugs for abuse liability or use as medications to treat addiction. |

Minimum Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. |

Preferred Qualifications | The preferred candidate will possess the following additional qualifications: A BS or MS in a quantitative life science (excluding social sciences) such as chemistry, biology, neuroscience or similar area. experience working with rodents and measuring their behaviors. Laboratory work experience in a non-clinical setting (this does not include laboratory course work for a degree program). Multiple years of prior laboratory bench work experience and knowledge of laboratory machinery. |
